Cooley Dickinson Hospital needed to upgrade the nurses’ station to create a more comfortable and efficient working environment, and additionally create two distinct areas for patients with differing clinical care needs. Dietz & Company Architects expanded the existing nurses’ station, consolidated medication storage, upgraded computer stations, created chart space and provided two separate areas for patient interaction. Interior corridor finishes were also upgraded. The complicated phased renovation was accomplished while this locked unit was in use by staff and patients.
