Main Street Housing

Location: Amherst, MA

Dietz & Company Architects worked with the Amherst Housing Authority to develop and build 11 new units of affordable housing in two multi-unit buildings.

The owner’s goal was to design within the local vernacular, and to provide for energy efficient units that are as green as possible given budget constraints. The project design integrates elements found in the farmhouses and Victorian vernacular that are found throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.
