Colegrove Park Elementary School

Location: North Adams, MA

In collaboration with Jones-Whitsett Architects, Dietz & Company Architects worked with the MSBA and the North Adams Regional School District Building Committee to provide feasibility study through construction documents services for the renovation of the historic Conte High School into a 310 student, state of the art LEED-Silver elementary school. Dietz and Company Architects was primarily responsible for the design and rehabilitation of the exterior envelope.  This project involved careful attention to the historic details of the façade including selection of appropriate fenestration systems that enhanced the historic character of the existing building.  Daylighting simulations were also conducted to size and locate shading devices, as well as specify glazing types.  This project received the Massachusetts Historical Commission’s Preservation Award for Rehabilitation and Restoration in 2016.
