Parsons Village

Location: Easthampton, MA

This 38-unit affordable housing project is the first large-scale, state-funded affordable housing project that is designed to be zero net energy. The 38 residential units and a small, single-story Community Building are grouped into seven buildings across the 4.3 acre site.
The intent was to create a village feel for this development using a modern version of Tudor/Arts and Crafts Style design. If roof-mounted photovoltaic panels are added in the future, the buildings are designed to provide the same amount of electricity that is used to heat, cool and power all buildings over the course of a year.
