Dietz & Company Architects Wins Historical Commission Preservation Award

Dietz & Company Architects’ work on the Caring Health Center has been recognized with a 2015 Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Award.

The Caring Health Center has been recognized for the adaptive reuse and the rehabilitation and restoration of the Coomes and Morse Blocks and the Smith Carriage Company building.

“The careful restoration and reuse of these three buildings for use as the Caring Health Center demonstrates a strong commitment to historic preservation that goes well beyond what is normally expected.”

Dietz & Company Architects Senior Project Architect, Debbi Gottlieb, worked tirelessly alongside the Caring Health Center team to complete the daunting task of preserving the buildings and faced many unforeseen circumstances (including tornado damage) head-on. The buildings that now house the Caring Health Center have been returned to their former glory and are an important resource for the City of Springfield.
